Yealink provides a wide range of IP-telephony phones that can be connected to Sonetel for making and receiving calls.
Connecting a Yealink phone to Sonetel
- Ensure that you have the Sonetel user name (email address) and password of the user for which you should connect the phone.
- Connect the power and Internet cables to the Yealink Phone.
- Connect to the webpage of the Yealink phone by entering the IP address* of the phone into a web browser.
- Configure the phone
- Click on the Account tab
- Select the Account (1 to 6) which you want to setup as the Sonetel account from the drop-down menu.
- Under the Basic section enter data in the following fields
- Set the Account active radio button as On.
- Label. Enter Sonetel
- Display Name. Enter Sonetel
- Register Name. Enter the first part of the user’s email address. If user is john.smith@gmail.com – simply enter john.smith
- User name. Same as Register name.
- Password. Enter the user’s Sonetel password.
- SIP Server & Port. For SIP server, enter the 2nd part of the user’s email address. If user is john.smith@gmail.com – simply enter gmail.com. Port should be 5060.
- Enable Outbound Proxy Server. Set to Enabled.
- Outbound Proxy Server , Port. Set to sonetel.net and 5060.
- NAT Traversal. Select STUN.
- STUN Server , Port. Enter stun.sonetel.net and port 3478.
- Click on Confirm button at the bottom of the page.
* To get the IP address of the phone, press the Menu button on the phone. You will see a list of options such as 1.Status 2.Features 3.Settings 4.Messages etc. Select Status from list and press Enter. The IP address of the phone will be shown.
Sonetel has tested and verified Yealink SIP-T28 with the above configuration. ALl Yealink SIP-T2X phones (T28P/T26P/T22P/T20P) can be expected to work the same way.
