This port connects the UPS battery backup to a computer running Tripp Lite’s free downloadable PowerAlert software to enable safe unattended file saves and system shutdown if power failure will last longer than the UPS can power the load. The USB cable is included and this function works with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems
